Fostering innovative life science research and competitive biotechnologies in the Visegrad Region

IVF Strategic Grant - ID 21420033
Fostering innovative life science research and competitive biotechnologies in the Visegrad Region
Implementation period: 01/01/2015 - 31/12/2015

RECOOP HST Association implements the Common Mechanism of Diseases (CMD) research program for innovative life science research in the V4 and the Neighboring Countries. The objectives are to increase the number of young scientists participating in innovative research, enable them to develop new biotechnologies and protect their intellectual property rights. As part of the RECOOP Bridges Conference in 2015, the Association is organizing V4 Biotech Science Forum for CMD in Wroclaw, Poland.

Expected outputs
CEE countries with fragmented scientific community, small research groups and scarce financing are facing difficulties to keep the pace with the rest of industrialized countries. Researchers from different institutions and countries are increasingly working together as network or association focused around specific research question like Common Mechanism of Diseases. These research platforms are valuable in international health research because they enable stimulating collaboration, access to interdisciplinary expertise and recruitment of participants in different settings. Research groups change dynamically over time allow sharing knowledge, implement new research opportunities, establishing new research projects, joint applications for funds and technology transfer.
